Pro-Tech Engenharia Quimica
"FluidFlow3 paid for itself the first time we
used it. Pro-Tech Engenharia Quimica is a consultant engineering company
specialising in the petro-chemical sector. We had a very challenging
job designing a large vapour collection system. We researched the market
very thoroughly before selecting FluidFlow3 for its completeness and
ease of use. With this software we were able to reduce the time of the
job and do in two weeks what would have taken us well over 4 weeks. On
this first job the software paid for itself and because of that work we
now have other similar job opportunities."

EAPC
"EAPC is a consulting engineering firm working primarily on heavy
industrial plant engineering assignments involving liquid, gas and steam
across many industrial sectors. With FluidFlow3 we have the capability
to solve certain technical problems that otherwise we would not be able
to tackle. It's very easy to construct network systems, the modelling is
very good, the product is powerful and logical, it is very easy to use
and it provides excellent results. We have been a customer from 1995 and
when we've needed some advice Flite Software has been extremely helpful
and quick to respond."

Philip Durrant Associates
"FluidFlow3 by Flite was highly beneficial for a client of Philip Durrant Associates (PDA) in a recent process design study.
The client intends to recover radioactive sludge
from large underground sumps and subsequently wash the sumps with
recovered supernate liquors and fresh water. Preliminary hand
calculations at the concept design stage had been carried out. To
confirm wash nozzle sizes, line sizes and pump selection at detailed
design we utilised Piping Systems FluidFlow3 to accurately model the
complex system.
FluidFlow3 was able to demonstrate that the
nozzles were undersized. This would cause the selected pump to operate
close to its closed head pressure in an unstable region that could
easily have damaged the pump when in service. Further, FluidFlow3
highlighted that several of the main lines were in fact undersized,
resulting in excessive power consumption and contributing to the pump
operating point issue. With FluidFlow3 we selected a different pump that
produced a system with an operating point close to the point of best
efficiency and an effective final design.
Without FluidFlow3 the initial solution proposed
was sub-optimal, and would have led to pump damage within a short
operating time as well as inefficient sludge recovery and ineffective
sump washdown. Once in service, replacing the pump and undersized lines
would have been difficult as they would have become contaminated with
radioactivity. The benefits of FluidFlow3 in saving upfront design time
and expensive rework later in the project were clearly demonstrated in
this application."

MAN Diesel & Turbo
"MAN Diesel & Turbo's activities in the power plant sector are based
on a well-established range of diesel engines and a rapidly growing gas
engine offering. The products range from small emergency power
generators to turnkey power plants with outputs of up to 400 MW.
We use the liquid, gas, and 2-phase modules of FluidFlow3 and make
extensive use of its simulation capabilities for engineering sub systems
as fuel gas lines or cooling water pressure systems, including for the
development of new systems. Before we bought we carried out extensive
product research and chose FluidFlow3 because of its completeness and
value for money. We have had to make occasional technical support calls
and have been impressed by the responsiveness. We have found Flite
Software to be extremely knowledgeable and helpful, really excellent."

British Sugar
"British Sugar has a corporate licence for FluidFlow3. It is used
throughout our business, mainly for liquids and occasionally for gas.
Before selecting FluidFlow3, we researched the market thoroughly. We
like the way that for very complex software it is relatively simple to
use and users require minimal training. It is functionally intuitive and
we like features such as the graphics, pseudo-isometric projection and
drag and drop. It is ideal for both design and "what-if analysis". It
has paid for itself many times over, year after year. Also Flite
Software is very responsive and knowledgeable whether it's a technical
query about fluid dynamics or about the software."

RWEnpower
"We were looking for a product for gas and liquid and have found
FluidFlow3 easy to use and it's relatively simple to set up and design
even quite complex system models. It's easy to change the model around
and being able to simulate and try out various operational conditions is
very powerful. I'm self-taught in the product and haven't needed
training or support."

Douglas Herbst
"Our FluidFlow3 licence has paid for itself many times over.
We were introduced to FluidFlow3 in 2009 when we worked with a client
to assist with their copper concentrate expansion evaluation phase from
16 to 22 Mtpy ROM. During the expansion plant decision, we were dealing
with a set of minimum plant system capabilities imposed by the
operation team such as river water, tailing line, plant water balancing,
slurry pumping review in the flotation and cleaning circuit among
others. At that time neither we nor the client used a flexible flow
model tool, we had only a set of unreliable calculation spreadsheets
which were too vague to reliably simulate or model the system.
FluidFlow3 was recommended and we used the slurry & water modules
to load the available data and very rapidly were able to demonstrate
really useful results to the operational engineers. We were very
impressed at how efficient and cost effective the product was.
Thanks to FluidFlow3's completeness and ease of use, we were able to
change parameters in a quick and timely manner, and work collaboratively
with the operational team. We could easily try alternative set-ups and
variations which simplified the project approval process and speeded-up
the project significantly.
Several systems were loaded and evaluated such as :
copper tailing line expansion from 5000 to 6500 m3/h @ 34% solids.
slurry copper flow in all cleaners & regrinding pumping circuits aiming piping substitution and optimisation.
overall industrial water balance modelling due to plant expansion.
river water intake review with creation of a new model of pumps in
parallel and recommendation of an additional 2,4 km polyethylene
waterline increasing the flow from 1500 to 2200 m3/h.
recuperated water capacity modelling with a new 32" galvanized steel , 3 km length water pipeline in parallel.
Since then, due to the power of FluidFlow3 for fluid modelling, I
have recommended other fluid mechanical engineers to use the software."
